The Hongdao Cup National Curling Championships 2025 was held at the Taipei Arena last month. In the women’s competition, there were 4 teams playing single round robin in the preliminary round. Our women’s team won the first game 8-2 without too much difficulty. In game 2, we were down by 2 points after the 4th end and only scored 1 point in the 5th with hammer. However, we managed to steal 2 points each in the next two ends and had a 3-point advantage in the 8th end without hammer. The opponent was not able to come back, and we won the second game 6-5. Game 3 was a similar story. We were down 0-4 after the 3rd end but came back with 3 points in the 4th. And then we stole a total for 4 points in the next 3 ends and won the game 7-5.
With a 3-0 record, we advanced to the final as the 1st seed. The other three team all had the same record, and the team with the best DSC would be ranked 2nd and advanced to the final. So we were facing the same team as in the game 3 in the round robin. In the final, we were leading 4-0 after the 3rd end, and they came back with 1 point in the 4th and stole 2 points in the 5th. Then we score 1point in the 6th and stole 2 points in the 7th. At the end, we won the final 7-4 and took the gold.
